Plus yeah, it's an excellent idea, having modern enemies. With guns. When the series is mainly about close combat, without automatic weaponry. Except it's not.

I'm not even gonna say anything about that bit about history manipulation. You've either completely missed the entire point of the games, or are ignorant on purpose.
