...Actually, according to the Supreme Court of the United States, it is meant to be taken literally. Also, gun violence doesn't necessarily correlate with overall violent crime, and Britain has issues of its own. (EDIT: To clarify, that post debunks the suggestion that violent crime in Britain is as high as some make it out to be. However, it also suggests that America isn't a crime-ridden wasteland either.) I don't want to get into a gun debate here since this really isn't the place for it, but do know this is a thorny issue in the US for a reason.
Not that that changes my position that video games don't cause this violence. That remains the same.
