Is there some sort of example that can be referred to regarding the "Appearances" you're proposing? Your description is a tad abstract for me.
As for the Timeline, I believe Kulurak actually has like a blog post that he keeps updated with every new piece of media that comes out. It would probably be a useful reference for you if the Timeline idea does go through. I would like to mention, we already have a Timeline article at the moment, so you would have to find something else to call it.
