This category is for vector images, images that can be scaled to any size without loss in quality.

Vector images are dramatically different from conventional raster images, like JPG, PNG, or GIF. Raster images work by assigning each pixel a certain color (e.g. Pixel 1: Red Pixel 2: Green...). Vector images, however, define entire fields before applying attributes (e.g. colors) to them.

The most common file format for vector images is SVG. Not all web browsers display SVG images correctly, so they are automatically displayed as PNG images. The original SVG can be accessed from the file page, however.

Use the {{SVG}} template on the file pages for SVG images. The template will display like this:
