Glad you asked! Some of the desserts here are handed to you in extraordinary circumstances by extraordinary users, while some are awarded for... well, frankly, anything.

Assassin's_Creed_Wiki:Bakery_and_Desserts_Inc./Projects_Division

Apprentices

Apprentices are permitted to award Desserts to any user, including other Apprentices and Staff. This is so they get experience in handing out Merits. But this is a privilege, not a right. If you unfairly give out Desserts to anybody and everybody who isn't deserving, then that privilege will be taken from you. So, before giving them out, make sure you have a valid reason for it.
