EDIT: Agreed, likely a nod, homage, reference to Bowie. It's actually a childhood injury that causes that eye to be dialated wide open, giving the appearance of hetereochroma iridium. But you know what? Close enough, and that's probably the conspiracy's rationalization for him being a Sage. | |||

EDIT: Bowie also has heterochroma iridium (different colored iris).
