Ōmizo was a feudal domain west of Lake Biwa in Ōmi, Japan.
History
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and Igan shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe arrived in Ōmizo to help Rokkaku Katsuhime recover her mentor's teppō. However, at the rendezvous point, Naoe discovered a note from Katsuhime, who stated that she went towards Ōmizo Castle to retrieve the teppō herself. Frustrated, Naoe left for the castle to find her.[1]
While visiting Ōmizo, both Naoe and fellow Kakushiba ikki member and samurai Yasuke discovered and financed a kakurega within the area.[2]
Behind the scenes
Historically, the current city that stands in its place is now called Takashima.[3]
