Biography
After a new wave of Vikings from continental Europe landed at Kent during the early 890s, Æthelred and his brother-in-law Edward the Elder pushed them back. In 893, Æthelred's army fought a Viking force led by Hastein in the Battle of Buttington and forced them to flee into Essex.[1]
