Yusuf Tazim was the leader of the Ottoman sect of Assassins and a Master Assassin in his own right. Operating primarily in his hometown Constantinople, he was primarily involved in the fight against the Byzantine Templars during the early 1510s and Ezio Auditore da Firenze's - the Mentor of the Assassins' - search for the Masyaf keys.
In the process, he and Ezio managed to make good relations with the Ottoman Royal House, primarily Şehzade Suleiman and Şehzade Ahmet, and thwarted the Templars' plans to take over the Ottoman Empire and find the Masyaf keys hidden in Constantinople.
Biography
Early life
Yusuf was born in Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, at that time known as the "Crossroads of the World". Raised to be an Assassin from birth, he rose through the ranks to eventually become the Ottoman Assassins' Mentor by 1511.[1]
Meeting with Ezio Auditore
In 1511, Yusuf met the Mentor of the Assassin Order, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, when he arrived by boat in Constantinople. Yusuf showed Ezio around the city, giving him a Hookblade in the process and introducing him to the various types of bombs that the Ottoman Assassins used. Together, they climbed the Galata Tower and viewed the city from above, until they both performed a Leap of Faith to bottom level.[1]
Rescuing Suleiman
In 1511 or 1512, Ezio and Yusuf dressed as entertainers and infiltrated a party for Prince Suleiman in the Topkapı Palace, who was in danger of a Templar assassination. Ezio and Yusuf were able to find and have the secret Templars who infiltrated the party killed, and gained good relationships with the Ottoman Royal House in the process.[1]
Appearance
Yusuf wore tan Assassin robes and a headband, both with teal sashes. He wielded the Hidden Blade, the hookblade, and Throwing Knives, and was adept at the art of bomb-crafting.
