William Weldon Champneys (1807 – 1875), was an English priest and author.
By the nineteenth century, St. Paul's Cathedral had once again lost its luster. Queen Victoria remarked that the cathedral was "dreary, dingy, and undevotional". Champneys, along with other philanthropists like Maria Hackett helped raise funds improve the cathedral. British Templar Crawford Starrick did not donate.[1]
