Captain William Bruce Overstreet Jr. (1921 – 2013) was an American fighter pilot during World War II.
In 1944, Overstreet pursued a German plane over Paris and managed to damage the fighter's engine. The German pilot attempted to shake off his pursuer by flying close to the Eiffel Tower, though it did not work, and the Nazi plane crashed to the ground.[1]
