William Maxwell (c. 1733 - 4 November 1796) was a Brigadier General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
In 1777, the Assassin Connor received word Maxwell was leading his troops astray, and sent his recruits to help them, ensuring minimal loss of life at the Battle of Cooch's Bridge.
