The Tyche's Folly was a sword which belonged to the Spartan general Taureas in the 5th century BCE Greece. Dedicated to Tyche, the Greek goddess of luck and fate, Taureas considered the blade to be his own "token of luck."

During the Peloponnesian War, Taureas was forced to leave the blade behind when his unit was attacked by vicious wild boars. A while later, he tasked the Spartan misthios Kassandra to retrieve his 'luck charm' in order to release one of Thespis' actors from his debt. After discovering the charm to be in fact a blade, Kassandra decided to keep it.[1]
