Private Arthur Harris (died 23 August 1914) was a British soldier who fought in World War I.

Biography

Arthur enlisted in the war in 1914 despite his parents objections and he was soon deployed along with the British Army in eastern France and southern Belgium. In August, he wrote a letter to his parents detailing his experiences in Belgium and his eagerness to defeat the Germans and for the war to end as soon as possible. However, Arthur was killed in the Battle of Mons on 23 August.[1]

In 1916, his letter was recovered by the British Assassin Lydia Frye in London, England.[1]
