The Illustrated Police News, also known as The Illustrated Police Bulletin, was a 19th century British newspaper and one of the earliest tabloids, focusing their journalistic work on crimes and scandals.[1] Throughout 1868, the newspaper's headlines covered events such as Sir David Brewster's mysterious death in an explosion near Croydon, a gang war in Whitechapel, a Starrick Brewing Company distillery exploding in Southwark, the destruction of Attaway Transport omnibuses, and Queen Victoria's Royal Ball that then-Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli attended.
