The Syrian Sabre was a sword used by the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad during the Third Crusade, and was the fourth sword given to him from his mentor, Al Mualim.[1] It was also obtainable by Ezio Auditore da Firenze during the 15th and 16th centuries. It could be purchased from any blacksmith in Florence, Venice, Forlì, San Gimignano, or Monteriggioni.[2] During his attempt to erode the Borgias' power, Ezio could also purchase the weapon in Rome.[3] Finally, Ezio could also purchase the weapon from one of the blacksmiths in Constantinople while searching for the Library of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.[4]
Weapon statistics
*In Assassin's Creed, there were no Damage, Speed or Deflect statistics. Weapon strength was based on ranks, with the Syrian Sabre being the last out of four.
Trivia
- Ezio was seen wielding this sword during the execution of his father and brothers, despite the fact that he had earlier retrieved the Common sword from his father's hidden room.
- The Syrian Sabre is considered the best sword in Assassin's Creed. However, its capabilities are considerably weaker in subsequent games of the Assassin's Creed series.
- Olivier Garneau, the CCO of Abstergo Entertainment, possessed a silver replica of the Syrian Sabre, which was displayed in his office in Montreal.
