Kassandra exploring the sunken temple

The Sunken Temple of Aphrodite was a temple in the Euripos Strait between Boeotia and the island Euboea in Greece. Once dedicated to the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite, the temple laid along Boeotia's northern shore until it was engulfed by the Aegean Sea.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the temple in search of a Mycenaean stele as mentioned by Eppie.[1]
