Stink bombs were a form of distractionary explosives utilized by Ottoman Assassins that drenched their victims with a foul odor, repelling all who came too close.
History
In the early 1500s, the Mentor of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins Ezio Auditore da Firenze was taught how to make and use the stink bombs by his Ottoman brethren. They had found the bombs to be useful for separating a marked target from innocent crowds, and the bombs could be crafted by using any shell and gunpowder type combined with the skunk oil ingredient.[1]
