A typical Splinter Bomb

The Splinter Bomb killed or injured by dispersing deadly shrapnel with its explosion. It could be crafted using any shell or gunpowder type combined with the shrapnel effect. It could also be obtained by looting Janissary corpses.

It was highly effective in direct confrontations, as the detonation of even one such bomb could kill anyone within its radius, including even the heavily armored Almogavars and Janissaries. However, due to its indiscriminate nature, civilian casualties were a very real possibility when they were present.

It was one of two types of bombs that could open up sealed wells, the other being the Thunder Bombs.
