The Spartan Grain Scythe was a type of scythe widely used in ancient Sparta, where it was by farmers and helots in their harvest of crops.
In 429 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra acquired the scythe after helping Lanike with the blighted crops of her farm.[1]
