The Social Club or Society of the Friends of Truth was a mixture of a political club and a literary salon in Paris during the French Revolution. It was affiliated with the Parisian Brotherhood of Assassins and their intelligence gathering front, the Café Théâtre.
In 1791, the Assassin Arno Dorian became the steward of the Café Théâtre and bought several cafés through Paris where the Club could meet and organize reunions while the Assassins used the cafés as safehouses.[1]
Behind the scene
Even though in Assassin's Creed: Unity the club is always named only as the Social Club, historically there was a Social Club known also as the Society of the Friends of Truth, a pro-republican and liberal Club with Camille Desmoulins and Nicolas de Condorcet as key figures.
