Soapstone is a type of metamorphic rock, used mainly for creating decorative items, such as statues. One example of its use is the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
History
During the Reconquista, the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins used soapstone in order to create various weapons, accessories and pieces of armor.[1]
