Shoshenq I (reigned c. 943–922 BCE), also known as Sheshonq I, was a pharaoh of ancient Egypt and the founder of the Twenty-second Dynasty.
During his reign, Shoshenq invaded Israel and conquered the city of Gibeon, a deed that was so celebrated that his infantry's standard service sword became known as the Battle of Gibeon Blade.
