The Shield of Hilarus was a shield which originally belonged to Hilarus Maximus, a retired gladiator from Krokodilopolis, Egypt.
Forged with a variety of metals by a blacksmith in Alexandria, it was given by Hilarus to the Medjay, Bayek of Siwa in 48 BCE, after the latter helped Hilarus to win a couple of brawls in the city.[1]
