Editing this just to bring this up. "Assassin-turned-Templar" is very awkward :-/ Would "Templar traitor" work? Would this mean he betrayed the Templars or a Templar that betrayed the Assassins?

Scott Lawson was a labor overseer in New York City during the mid-18th century.

During the French and Indian War, the newly-promoted Lawson unwittingly worked against the Colonial Brotherhood of Assassins' interests, contrary to the Brotherhood's expectations. A group of Assassins was sent to kill him in public and frighten the people of New York into submission, but this attempt was foiled by the Templar Shay Cormac.
