Saint Peter (c. 1 CE – 67 CE), born Shimon and later known as Simon Peter, was a leader of the early Roman Catholic Church, and was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ. He was featured prominently in the New Testament Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles.

Peter came into possession of a Staff of Eden, which he used to become the first leader of the Christian religion and the first Pope of the Roman Catholic religion.[1]

Peter was later crucified upside down in the Circus of Nero in Rome around the year 67. St. Peter's Basilica was built over the site to commemorate him.[2]

Trivia

  • In Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, Peter was one of the four martyred Christian saints represented in the Martyrs mnemonic set. The artwork for this set's mnemonics alluded to each saint's manner of martyrdom, with Peter's being depicted as an inverted cross.[3]
