Saint Hadrian's Priory

Saint Hadrian's Priory was an Anglo-Saxon priory in northeastern Cent, England dedicated to Adrian of Canterbury.[1]

History

In 873, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan arrived at the priory and met with her ally, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq, who sent word of a possible sighting of Sigurd Styrbjornsson and Fulke. There, Basim soon introduced Eivor to Abbot Cynebert, who asked Eivor for a service in return for information on Fulke's whereabouts. Eivor reluctantly agreed to help the abbot by finding out the new ealdorman's identity for him, as Basim and Cynebert left to discuss terms.[2]

After a series of events, Abbot Cynebert kept his promise to Eivor and Basim and told them to meet him back at Saint Hadrian's Priory in a matter of days. Basim and Eivor traveled back to the priory, only to notice a silence in the area as no one was around. Entering the abbot's quarters, Eivor and Basim caught sight of Fulke, who was enjoying the abbot's feast, as Cynebert sat motionless at the feast table.[3]

However, after a brief argument between the Viking and the Maegester, Fulke took her leave as Cynebert's body fell forward onto the table, showing his demise. Fulke soon ordered her soldiers to kill Basim and Eivor, but they escaped and went to track Fulke.[3] Eivor also found a viewpoint atop the priory's church.[4]
