Retiring Captain Ordóñez was an altered representation of one of Aguilar de Nerha's genetic memories.
Aguilar's Journal
Our regular strikes to damage the Spanish army's supplies have lowered their morale, but to ensure victory we must remove the hand that cracks the whip against their back.
The letter we retrieved in Seville allowed us to confirm Captain Ordóñez's presence in Jaen. By eliminating him, we will further throw the Spanish plans into disarray.
Dialogue
Upon reaching Cpt. Ordóñez.
- Cpt. Ordóñez: Assassins?! What are you doing here? It is of no matter. Come to me! You shall not chase me away this time. Taste the anger of my blade! We will settle this once and for all!
After defeating Ordóñez.
- Cpt. Ordóñez: You think you have struck a great blow by killing me? Fools! *cough* Your obsession with finding me has blinded you to the greater plan. While I engaged you here, the army moved against Baza. *cough* It has already fallen by now. You... cannot... stop... us...
