Guy and Raynald surrendering to Salāḥ ad-Dīn

Raynald of Châtillon (French: Renaud de Châtillon; c. 1125 – 4 July 1187) was a French crusader and Prince of Antioch from 1153 to 1160.

In 1187, Salāḥ ad-Dīn besieged Tiberias. In an effort to relieve the fief's prince, Raymond III of Tripoli, Guy of Lusignan and Raynald engaged the sultan's forces in the Battle of Hattin.[1] The battle was a disaster for the crusaders, and most the commanders, including Raynald, were captured. For his aggression against the Saracens, Raynald was beheaded by Salāḥ ad-Dīn.[2]
