The Quirinal Hill (Latin: Collis Quirinalis, Italian: Colle Quirinale) is one of the seven hills of Rome.

History

It was originally part of a group of hills that included Collis Latiaris, Mucialis (or Sanqualis), Salutaris. These are now lost due to building in the 16th century and later. The hill was home to a small Sabine settlement in the 8th to 7th century BCE, who built their tombs in the area before their assimilation by Rome. The Roman Emperor Constantine I also had several private baths built in the area.[1] The President of the Italian Republic resides in the Quirinal Palace on this hill.
