Puffins, are medium-sized birds belonging to the Fratercula genus in the family of Auks. Puffins are a type of seabird adapted to living in coastal areas, foraging in the seas but nesting on land.
Puffins are known for their colorful beaks, which they actually only have during breeding seasons. They are predominantly black and white with orange feet. Their diet mainly consists of fish, with some zooplankton on the side.
History[edit | edit source]
During the 9th century, Puffins were in abundance in Norway. Even in some colder parts of England, like Eurvicscire, puffins were sighted. Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir encountered these puffins whilst on her travels through the lands.[1]
