Polygnotos of Thasos was one of ancient Greece's most famous painters.
The clubhouse Lesche of the Knidians was renowed for displaying two paintings by Polygnotos. According to geographer Pausanias, they depicted the Capture of Troy and a necromantic ritual.[1]
