A Poignard is a long, lightweight thrusting knife with a continuously tapering, acutely pointed blade and crossguard, historically worn by the upper class, noblemen, or the knighthood. It's slender tapered blade makes it ideal for deep-cutting stabbing attacks.

During the 15th century, the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins utilized the knives in their arsenal and forged it from their hideout in Sierra de Cazorla.[1]
