Antonio Vespucci was a Florentine nobleman during the 15th century.
Biography
Father to one of the most beautiful women of her age, Cristina, Antonio was incensed by the nighttime visits of Cristina's lover, Ezio Auditore. Although he called guards on Ezio, they were never able to outmatch his speed and dexterity.[1] Due to Antonio's adoration for his daughter, Cristina would often use her influence on him to ensure that Ezio would not suffer for his involvement with her.[2]
In December 1476, Ezio was forced to leave Florence and Cristina, and Antonio began to insist his daughter choose what kind of life she wanted, and to pick a husband. She eventually married Manfredo Soderini.[2][3]
Behind the scenes
Cristina's database entry reveals that she was the cousin of famed navigator Amerigo Vespucci, implying that Antonio was either Amerigo's uncle or uncle-in-law.[4]
