Philip II (21 May 1527 – 13 September 1598) was King of Spain, Portugal, Naples, and Siciliy. By his marriage to Mary I, he was also King consort of England and Ireland.
The announcement of his marriage to Mary in 1554 was met with a rebellion by the English politician Thomas Wyatt, who eventually surrendered after his defeat at the village of Charing in England.[1]
