Pelopeion was a temenos in the Sanctuary of Olympia in Elis, Greece. Dedicated to Pelops, a King of Pisa that the Peloponnese peninsula was named after, the shrine was also allegedly his tomb.
Each year, a black ram was sacrificed in Pelops' honor at the Pelopeion. [1]
During the 428 BCE Olympic Games the shrine was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
