The Pazzi conspiracy was an attempt, in 1478, by the Knights Templar to remove the House of Medici from power in the city of Florence. Instigated by the Grand Master of the Knights Templar – Rodrigo Borgia – and fronted by the House of Pazzi, the coup brought Florence into a brief period of civil war, during which the young assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze killed the Pazzi off one by one, gaining the patronage and recognition of Lorenzo de' Medici.

Following the death of Vieri de' Pazzi, Francesco de' Pazzi during the coup, and then Jacopo de' Pazzi in San Gimignano not long after, the conspiracy officially ended.

Members

All members of the conspiracy were killed by the assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, although Jacopo had been fatally wounded by Rodrigo Borgia beforehand.
