In 873, a criminal by the name of Egil the Fornicating Crow had broken several laws across England by stealing food and murdering several innocent Norsefolk who had hoped to trade him with. As a result, he was declared a wanted criminal under Danelaw and under the rule of both King Alfred of Wessex and King Burgred of Mercia.
