Animus data fragments were small shard-like objects spread throughout the city of Constantinople and Cappadocia during Desmond Miles' Animus sessions. When certain amounts of these were collected, narrow doors on Animus Island were unlocked, allowing Desmond to perform several first-person platform puzzles, while narrating his memories. These quests were known as "Desmond's Journey". There were 5 of these levels with each of them being unlocked with another 5 fragments.[1]

Trivia

  • There is an Achievement for collecting all Animus data fragments, called "Capped" (20G; Bronze Trophy).
  • The Animus data fragments looks like the loading bar from Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
  • There are 100 Animus data fragments spread throughout Constantinople in total.
