| This article is about standard saber of the British American colonies. You may be looking for the common sword of Renaissance Italy.. |

The normal sword was a weak but standard sword prevalent in the British colonies during the 18th century. It saw service with soldiers of the British Army during the French and Indian War and into the American Revolution but was not limited to military use as it was sold in general stores across North America, including Boston, New York, and towns in the Frontier.
Description
Its noiseless approach makes it reliable under any weather conditions, especially when black powder is dripping wet and unusable. The guard is wide and protects the wielder's hand. Sometimes, it may also be used to punch the opponent.
