Niccolò di Pitigliano (1442 - 1510) was an Italian condottiero best known as the Captain-General of the Venetians during the Most Serene Republic's war against the League of Cambrai. He was a member of the powerful feudal family of the Orsini, belonging to its Pitigliano line.

In 1509, Niccolò fought in the Battle of Agnadello alongside his cousin Bartolomeo d'Alviano.

In 1510, Niccolò was killed by the Assassin Francesco Vecellio.[1] While Niccolò survived the assassin's initial attack by using the Shroud, his dependency on the relic backfired horribly when it finally caused his demise. Upon Niccolò's death, it was Francesco Vetellio who took possession of the Shroud.
