Nathan (unknown – 2016) was a member of the Assassin Brotherhood and one of the many Assassins abducted by Abstergo Industries for use in their Animus research in Madrid. Reliving the genetic memories of his ancestor, Duncan Walpole,[1] in the Animus made him wary of most people, including the newest arrival at the facility, Callum Lynch.

Biography

Hailing from the East End, Nathan was a gang member and a drug dealer, who because of his youthful appearance was sent by his leader to deal near schools. One day, Nathan, who was known for his bad temper who got him expelled from multiple schools, almost killed another member of the gang with his bare hands.[2]

At some point Nathan was kidnapped by the Templars and brought to the Abstergo Industries facility in Madrid, where he had to relive the life of his Assassin ancestor, Duncan Walpole. Experiencing Walpole's memories was very traumatic for Nathan, who saw many similarities between his own life choices and Walpole's selfishness which he despised, prompting him to change.[2]

By 2016, Nathan was still a prisoner of the Templars, but by this time had come to consider himself as an Assassin, being part of a cell formed with others who like him had been imprisoned by the Templars: namely Moussa, Lin and Emir.[3]

When the criminal Callum Lynch, actually the son of the Assassins Joseph and Mary Lynch, arrived at the facility as a new test subject, Nathan and his friends regarded him with caution. Out of his group, Nathan was the most distrustful, paranoid that Callum would betray them to the Templars somehow and lead them to the Apple. At one point, he openly assaulted Callum, trying to strangle him with a garrote but was stopped by the guards.[3]

During Callum's last session in the Animus, where he would discover the location of the Aguilar's Apple of Eden acquired by his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, Nathan and his comrades launched a prison break. His suspicions of Callum were proven misguided when he and his friends burst into the Animus chamber to find Callum being inducted into the Assassin Brotherhood through a memory by his mother. They stood alongside Callum as they prepared to defend themselves against dozens of Abstergo guards.[3]

While the guards were trying to open the locked doors, the Assassins equiped themselves with the various antique weapons adorning the room, Nathan choosing a sword. Unlike his other friends, Nathan did not make it out of the Animus chamber alive, being stabbed in the back while fending off the guards.[3]
