Meldeburne

Meldeburne is a village in the far south-west of Cambridgeshire, England. During the Anglo-Saxon period, the village originally comprised of a single monastery with multiple smaller religious buildings.

In 873, Meldeburne was raided by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir, who looted its buildings of its wealth and cargo to upgrade the Ravensthorpe settlement in Ledecestrescire.[1]
