The Mekong (Khmer: Tônlé Mékôngk), also known as the Mother of All Rivers,[1] is the third-longest river in Asia. It runs through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.[2]

In 1524, a group of Assassins from Italy was tasked with stopping a renegade former member that had been terrorizing the local people along the Mekong delta,[1] then part of Cambodia. Aided by Shao Jun, the expedition members braved the Khmer Kingdom's jungles and explored villages and temples along the river[3] before being able to stop their adversary and destroy their Apple of Eden,[4] an artifact that had been warping and corrupting the very land, its fauna and its flora.[5]
