The highest rank in the brotherhood. Altaïr held the position before being demoted to Novice Asssassin, a level which he does eventually regain. His descendant, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, eventually becomes a Master Assassin at some point during his lifetime. Ezio becomes a master assassin at the age of 40 and it is speculated if he is the master of the assassins in Italy.
