The Marquis, as he appears in Multiplayer

The Marquis (real name: Charles de la Motte) is a multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. This character is available along with the downloadable content The Da Vinci Disappearance. He appears to wield a sabre.


Unique Moves

Down and Up (Low Profile, Front)

The Marquis moves up to his target and does a swift downward slash at the target, and then he commits an upward slash which results in the victim flipping backwards to their death.

The Face to Knee (High Profile, Front)

The Marquis runs to his target, he forces them to their knees. He then slashes them in the shoulder, followed by a swift knee to the face. This is performed occasionally by Ezio if you attacked someone unarmed or unaware.

The Slash and Stab (Low Profile, Back)

  • "Marquis" is the French denomination for Marquess, a European title of nobility.
  • The Marquis is confirmed as French, as in Project Legacy, Charles de la Motte challenges Cesare Borgia's Italian troops with his own French troops to a tournament to see which side is more chivalrous.
  • He is the first multiplayer character that was featured on Project Legacy before being playable in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
