M.-O. Boudreault is an employee of Abstergo Entertainment, a subsidiary of Abstergo Industries. They are a colleague of the subsidiary's CCO Melanie Lemay and often exchanged correspondences with her.

In July 2014, Melanie sent Boudreault a series of emails concerning the use of memories from Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore and Ratonhnhaké:ton in different Abstergo Entertainment products, despite previous market analyses having past on using them. Boudreault had concerns, but Melanie thought of reframing the memories in different ways, using Altaïr as the first of a series tentatively named "History's Hitmen", removing Ezio altogether and creating a virtual tourism feature set in the Italian Renaissance, and focusing on George Washington rather than Ratonhnhaké:ton.[1]

Behind the scenes

M.-O. Boudreault is a fictional character whose identity is only mentioned in the 2013 video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Seven years after its release, the game's Lead Writer Darby McDevitt answered a question on Reddit and revealed that Boudreault's initials and surname were a reference to his friend and fellow developer Marc-Olivier Bouchard,[2] who worked as the graphics Team Lead for the 2012 video game Assassin's Creed III and the last installment of its three-part 2013 downloadable expansion The Tyranny of King Washington entitled The Redemption.
