The Lost Minoan Shrine was a ruined Minoan temple in Zeus' Playground in Messara, Greece, located at the foot of Mount Ida.
During the 5th century BCE, the ruins were overtaken by the Followers of Ares, who raised a statue of the god Ares within them, and begun to harass the people in Messara. This lasted until the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killing the Followers, freeing their captives, and claiming the valuables at the place.[1]
