The Lion of Leonidas was a statue of a lion set where Leonidas of Sparta was laid to rest, following the Battle of Thermopylae, in Malis, Greece.
At some point during 431 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the place, meeting with Herodotos.[1]
