Limassol is a city in Cyprus. The city itself was most likely built after the destruction of Amathus, but ancient graves and relics found there suggest that the site was inhabited as early as 2000 BCE.
The city could be divided into four main districts, the port, marketplace, cathedral square, and castle.
Crusades

In 1191, the city of Limassol was under control of the Templars, who ruled the populace with an iron fist. The supreme ruler of Limassol - along with much of Cyprus - was the Grand Master of the Templar Order, Armand Bouchart. Because of his oppression, 'people are afraid to leave their homes in fear of breaking some obscure new law'.
During his time on Limassol, Altaïr assassinated Fredrick 'The Red', captain of the Templar guard in Limassol and a high ranking Templar himself.
In 1193, Altaïr and Maria held their wedding in Limassol.
Reniassance
Ezio Auditore da Firenze sailed to Limassol in late 1510 during his pilgrimage to Masyaf, on a ship owned by Ma'Mun, from whom he received a map of the island drawn by the Ottoman cartographer and Assassin, Piri Reis. Ezio during his stay rediscovered the mostly destroyed Templar Archive, located beneath the ruins of Limassol Castle.
